My contribution:

"Nothing but insults" is factually incorrect. $2500 for a 26 YO car in that condition is a lot. Regardless of the money spent on things you consider upgrades, I'd take the first $1000 that walked in the door.

I live in VA but know well the ravages of Northeast rust. I have to question the possible market for such a thing. Seems like a good fit for someone who knows and needs a beater. Or perhaps for a first car. It is a tremendous leap of faith unless you have the knowledge found here and as is obvious, your market isn't here.
