Stuck water Pump 200

A little background on the problem of the 88 244 DL. Our daughter purchased the car a few years ago and alot of work was done to it. I did work as I had time and some stuff was done by an independent a shop that suppossedly knows Volvo's.We purchased the car from her. The timing belt was done about a year ago. The car is running hotter than normal. The top 1/4 of the radiator is hot and the rest is cold. I don't know the age of the radiator so I bought a Nissens. I figured it would be a good idea to replace the water pump, not leaking. All of the bolts are out and the 2 nuts and bolt/nut for heater pipe. The water pump is stuck, I mean stuck. I can't pry it and don't want to break something. What am I missing or just button up? Thanks Matt
