Trunk Lid support 120-130

I have been returning to road use, a 123gt. I do not call this a restoration, as I do not have the funds to make the grade of "show car". It is amazing how much can be spent on a restoration.
My problem lies with the torsion bars supporting the trunk lid when open. I have been able to access new bars from Sweden, how are they fitted is my dilemma. It would appear one side of the lid support must be removed so the bars can be inserted.
If anybody has performed this and can give advice, I will be grateful.
