240 Right rear brake hard line needed 200

I did this right rear corner on my 1988 240 this last winter. Uses the double flare and was 21" or 24" with british fittings. I have the flaring tool but like the stock piece from napa better. It cannot leak or weep. I still had to make the bends myself and the fit on top of the axle must copy the original. I have the bender to and they're inexpensive but you can do the bends on small tubing by hand. Girling calipers for us on the back, so brit fitting for us also. If the keep the merchandiser stocked you should find it. I would take my very clean caliper with me and get the correct one from the beginning. I thought I might kill my first go with it, I did. The correct length escapes me, but the correct just fits. I probably had the thing in and out a dozen times so don't crank the soft fitting down at the start, the block female fitting for the flex hose on the axle is a concern for cross threading. I replaced mine because it rubbed ever so slightly on the sway bar. Patience for this job, the coil spring is in the way and I as I remember I had to screw this snake through the spring and over the top of the pumpkin many times to get the correct fit. I also spent time making a new bracket for the flex hose support, there was much rust with any small sheet metal brackets. Also I fabed a replacement for the plastic piece that locates the tube before the last bend on the axle by the wheel. It's these little jobs allow true bonding of man and machine. Got a pull and pay? Do not use adapters on high pressure fittings, keep looking for the correct part, I know. Keith
