740T stuck 700 1989

Started my ‘89 745turbo up yesterday and immediately gunned it down the street. (Something I never do, but runnng late...). Anyway, car makes it around the corner and 2blocks up, dies and won’t start up again. Tried unplugging the AMM to no effect. Boost gauge is stuck at 12 o’clock.
Does this sound familiar to anyone before I get into heavy diagnostic mode?
