The EBay link that was posted didn't work for me. The pump that I ended up using on my 1971 142 E was from the Nissan 280 Z / 280 ZX turbo. Perhaps the pump that Eric was referring to? It is almost a drop dead duplicate of the Bosch 2 port D jet pump except for the electrical terminals which makes installation a snap. The pump is quiet and reliable, although this is only its 4th year so the reliability assessment is inconclusive. I searched through on-line sellers and I was able to obtain the OEM part in a Nissan box for less than $250. The pump is more expensive than the generic / universal pumps; but, the ease of installation and reliability (so far) is worth it.

Stay away from the Airtex universal pump and all the pumps that are clearly rebadged Airtex pumps. I had the Airtex that was sold for use on the Volvo. It required add on angle fittings and needed rubber padding to fit in the Volvo pump bracket, both of which made installation a significant hassle. To top it off it started making a lot of noise after about 3 months and shortly after lost the ability to make adequate fuel pressure. Not happy about that - did I mention how much I like the Nissan pump?
