Well - success, I think. Removed the cover of the windshield wiper gear case. Cleaned up the underside of the cover as well as the tip of the copper ground tang. I had already added an external ground wire - cleaned up that connection as well --- although, frankly, it all looked good to me.
Nonetheless, ignition on and the wipers came on as the stalk was in the "slow" position. Moved it to off - and they turned off. So, with ignition on, they seem to have returned to normal function. I'll give it a test drive and see what happens a bit later in the week.
Headed up to a buddy's in Lynchburg, VA Mon. morning --- we're hoping to get his '62 250 GTE 2+2 Ferrari started after an 8-9 year slumber. Tried last Thursday -- but needed to replace the starter and the seals in the master cylinder. Parts have arrived -- ready to try again! He and I got the same car going back in 1985/6 after an 11 year "rest". Nothing quite like the sound of that 3.0L V12 clearing its throat. Hopefully, he'll be able to keep driving it regularly enough now to keep it going.
