Fuel Injector Maintenance 200 1988

1988 Volvo 240 DL N/A with about 300k miles. It uses Bosch LH 2.2 fuel injection with all black injectors, part number 028150734.

It's a fixer-upper, the prior owners not doing routine maintenance other than oil changes.

I want to do a DIY fuel injector flush, i.e. not send them out.

I already read the FAQs herein.

I'm not so sure that the back flush technique would work with my elctronically activated fuel injectors.

I'm wondering about getting a junkyard wire harness, connecting the wire to the battery, then introducing fuel injection cleaner through the top of the injector. I checked my Bentley manual's wiring diagram, but it's unclear which wire is power and which is ground.

Do Bosch/OEM fuel injectors have a lifespan such that preventive maintenance is called for?

How often should I be cleaning the fuel injectors off of the car?
