164 in the pick n pull - what should I grab? 140-160 1973

Potential D jet stuff:

- The intake air temp sensor

- The coolant temp sensor
** Check the thread size because I think the Bosch dropped the thread diameter sometime around 1973 so it may not fit an earlier car***

- The auxiliary air valve if the B30 matches the one on the B20E/F. Finding a used working aux air valve would be gold to have as a spare.

- The fuel injectors if you want to retain the OEM look if you need future replacements. This will depend on pick and pull pricing since you will likely need to have them cleaned and flow tested and you might only get back 50% of the injectors in usable condition. Balance that against the cost of a new Bosch injector which runs around $250 or $100 in a reman. Beck Arnley sells a replacement for the Bosch 036 injector for around $60 or so that flows exactly the same (I have flow tested). The down side is that it is all black so does not look like a Bosch injector.

** Volvo / Bosch changed the MAP sensor sometime during production. Volvo part # 243183 and # 243136. I don't have the Bosch numbers. Check the part # to make sure it matches your car.***

- The cold start valve if the 1973 B30F still uses the same design as the B20 - finding a working one would be gold.

- If retaining the original look is important, I would grab the three relays associated with the fuel injection system. If the OEM look is not important don't bother since they are just basic relays.

- If the B30 uses the same headlight flasher relay as the 1800E that might be a worthwhile spare to have on hand.

A lot of this depends on how your pick and pull prices things. If the 164 has been non operational for a while you might want to put a pretty heavy discount on the value since some of he parts may be non operational. If it was running before it got salvaged, then maybe higher value for the parts.
