I am looking at buying a plastic hinge for my gas tank fuel door. My original is missing three of the four plastic push-in attachments and cannot be mounted anymore. I have seen a new one advertised for $6.68 US which is not a bad price but when you add in the fifteen dollar shipping charge the price is getting up there [then add fifteen per cent for the weaker Canadian dollar :(

I would love to buy the push-in connectors but am not sure if there is a source. Has anybody else found a decent solution? I could use self-tapping screws but then rust will follow, the holes will be larger and the original part will no longer fit.

I sold my car but then bought it back again and there has been some damage left behind by the former owners.
