Sagging rear hatch 200 1993

I have a repeated problem with a sagging rear hatch on a 240 waggon. It is correted with a new hinges but reappears in a few years. Are new hinges the only way to correct or is it really an issue wth grommets/ stoppers?

The problme manifests as nibbling of the bottm hatch corners as the bottm rubs against the chassis.
