Sagging rear hatch 200 1993

Have you been lubricating the hinges every oil change? My dealer does that and has been it for the 25 years that I have dealt with them.

I purchased a used 740 that had its hood hinge break just like in the Brick Pix in the Standby section. This hinge had been bending instead of operating properly. BTW - when I repaired it I got a tremendous respect for its design and the steel that it is made of!

Changing, adjusting, or shimming the stops, grommets, and latches may help as they will keep the tailgate from moving as much.

When we purchased an '08 XC70, it had a relatively loud rattle in the rear that I thought was in the suspension - the tech adjusted the latch and it has not returned in the last 3 years.

Wiggle the tailgate when it is closed - I do not think it should move much if at all.
