> As aleekat mentions--any alignment problem would be in the linkage and adjustment of the window crank assembly.

I appreciate both you and aleekat for responding.

I never had to deal with a problem like this with any 240 I have ever come across. This is the third 740 I have owned that the driver's window will not close properly and the gap is always at the rear corner of those windows. The result is an annoying wind noise right about ear level.

I have successfully swapped out the scissors/motor assembly in one of those cars from a parts car I had. The pivot point of the two arms appears to be the wear point, but the window glass seems to fit loosely in the channels as well.

Being able to reposition the glass in the bracket would allow the glass to be raised at the front edge and the result would be for the glass to be properly aligned at the top of its travel which would eliminate the gap/noise.

As far as I have been able to determine there is no "adjustment" in the mechanism or the channels.

Randy
