Immobilizer lock out 1988

I have a 1988 Volvo Bertone 780 coupe that I picked up a couple of years ago for a future restoration project. I was able to drive it home - with some minor vacuum issues. I did not get a FOB with the car. It sat for a few months. I had the battery out and recharged it. when I connected the battery cables the alarm went off and will not start. No power to anything.

I picked up a used Anti-Theft Module Relay for my garage to replace and see if that does the trick.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Or a way to fix it or bypass it?

Thanks,
Ed
