1964 PV544 - P18 or B20 444-544

Good afternoon, It has been several years, but I'm back to Volvo after a brief (and somewhat masochistic) stint with Citroen.

My next project is a 1964 PV-544. It has a stock B-18 that runs but needs a rebuild. I'm really a "keep it stock" kind of guy, most of my driving is surface streets and local highways up to 50mph (no freeway driving).

I'm considering installing a B-20, but am curious your opinion. As I see it:

Stock B-18 'pro' (in support):
-Stock engine for the car (i.e. it is correct)
-I have the engine
-no plans to make this a "performance" car, but would consider a cam upgrade (recommendations?)
-May retain overall value better (i.e. the car has not been "modified")

Stock B-18 'con' (reason to consider switch to B20)
-Parts availability not as good for B18 rebuild (e.g. pistons) as for B20
-B20 has more power but looks stock
-flexibility if I want more power in the future

What are your thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
Mike
