Passenger window problem 200 1990

I drive a 1990 Volvo 240 sedan. I cruised around with the windows down yesterday and stopped at a store. When I got back to my car the passenger front window wouldn’t roll down again. Up until that point the window worked fine. The window still makes an effort to roll up when pressing the switch, but no effort to roll down. The same thing happens with the switch on the driver door and the switch on the passenger door. The motor is clearly getting power but something is preventing it from wanting to go down. Any ideas?
