Windshield wiper problem 900 1994

Dear rstarkie,

Hope you're well. Based on Volvo VADIS diagrams, 940 Sedans have a single windshield wiper intermittent relay; wagons have two.

The windshield intermittent relay is "C". This is third from the right as you face the relay panel, in the row closest to the firewall. The next position - if it is a sedan - should be "empty". On a wagon, that has the intermittent relay for the rear window wiper.

Because the problem arises when the wipers are supposed to operate continuously, I suspect the switch - on the steering column - may be "on the way out".

It is also possible that the ground contact needs cleaning.
