240 Ext/Int Light Failure and Chime 200 1992

A completely normal 1992 240 with very low miles...everything working 100%. No leaks or water issues. Without notice, the headlights go off, there are no interior /dash lights, and the radio wont come on. Whats more, when the glovebox is open, the chime dings also. Chime will also come on when the turn signals are used.

Only things I can relate to such a broad spectrum of devices is the ignition switch (a recent OE Volvo one was installed and found to be bad - returned and another blue box one installed), or the round red light relay.

Has anyone ever heard of or experienced anything similar? No idea where even to start looking.
