Electric burning smell 700 1991

Smelled this the last couple days, this morning for a 15 minute ride about 5 miles it was really strong. 5 hours later going home I didn't turn on the radio (not that I suspected that - just there is few things easy to turn off), and there was no smell. Earlier 740's I think had a problem with the fuse box, but mine is a 91. Wondering if there is a common problem. Ideas? thanks.
