760 turbo wagon transmission noise 700

Hello I need some help.
My 1990 Turbo wagon 211,000 miles makes a momentary grind noise when shifted from Park to 1st and also when shifted from Park to Reverse, and when shifted from 1st to Reverse? Does not make noise when shifted from Park to Drive? The trans fluid level (hot) is to top-mark on dipstick and seems in good shape - no burnt smell, no dark color.
I was following Owner's Manual procedure to check Transmission Fluid level of "shifting thru the gears then checking dipstick".
Any ideas of how to continue testing for problem diagnosis?
