Hi all,
I am new to the DIY scene. I just bought an automatic 1988 Volvo 245. Recently it started stalling when I put it into gear (i.e. it starts fine, just can't put it into gear). I have been using this as my first learning opportunity. I've been looking and plan on looking through a lot of things: MAF, vacuum lines, spark plugs, rotor/distributor cap, fuel pump relay, fuel pump, etc. One of them is the fuse holder. I saw that IPD makes a replacement, as this commonly gets corroded: https://www.ipdusa.com/products/5731/102452-volvo-watertight-fuse-holder-ipd-102452. I decided to look to see if mine is corroded, and I cannot seem to find the fuse they are referring to. I have attached a picture of what that area of the hood looks like. If anyone can help me make sense of what is going on here, where the fuse is/should be, that would be very helpful.
Also, all I have done so far is clean the MAF, replaced the fuel pump relay, and replaced the fuses in the fuse box (one of them was incorrect). If anyone has any insight on how to prioritize next steps given these symptoms - let me know! It seems like everything under the sun can cause this.
Thank you in advance!
