1992 745 Horn and washer fail

Thankyou Chris,

You were correct that ground problems were the cause of the horn malfunction. Dirt and dust accumulating on the slip ring seems to have been the cause. However in my defense, the washer pump (in my 92, not the 91 and prior years) unlike the horn is power side switched vs ground side switched.

Horn now works w a good spraying of contact cleaner and at least my front windshield washer is working after freeing the pump of gunk.

Thanks for keeping me on track. Seems the two problems could have been related on a 91. Unrelated on this 92

Marty
