You have resolved the cause of your faulty EGR-related fault code 2-4-1 in socket six, ignition. Merely resetting or clearing the OBD fault does not make the issue go away.

The sensor is no longer available (NLA) from Volvo as listed here on Tasca's site:

The FCP Euro page displays a manufacturer part number of 6842457.

Unsure the manufacturer. Forget right now. Old guy on death's door.

You may find in the after market or get lucky and find used old stock.

The EGR temp sensors fail as the copper strands in the black insulated leads enter the sensor flex and the copper break, usually. If you check for continuity at the connector across both pins and the mulitmeter display no continuity, can be the cause.

Try your local auto part stores. Appears Dorman may make an after market version.

Use Bing and Google. Call around at your local parts stores. May take a day or so to arrive.

Your mechanic also verified the EGR system flow? The EGR piping is not clogged? The EGR valve works. The EGR vacuum valve has not failed and opens and closes exposing the EGR valve to engine air induction intake vacuum?
