240 taillights 200 1989

In the past year I have acquired an 89 240 with 74k.Like a new car! Two questions, #1 I now have a light monitor that comes on when I apply brakes. All the brake lights work, but the left side appears to be getting too much voltage. Much brighter than the right. #2 Can I use volvo kit # 9145666 to move the service port to area near the receiver/dryer to facilitate easier servicing, as on later 240s.Thanks for your help.
