J-type Overdrive not engaging 120-130

Hello all:

I tried roaming all the postings here hoping to find something that troubleshoots the problem I am having with the recently installed J-type M1 into my 122.

No luck, so I am going ahead and ask for help.

The J-type M41 I acquired is a rebuilt one, but after I had it installed, it will not respond whenever I tried flipping the switch while I test drove it at cruising speed. However, when I turned off the switch, the car bucked for a split second almost as if the overdrive was being engaged, but the engine RPM remained the same.

I tried flipping the switches several more times. Same result: nothing happens with the switch turned on, but bucked every time I flipped the switch off.

I found it really strange, but I am hoping that this symptom may be something one of you or more recognize and hopefully could offer a remedy.

Many thanks in advance!

-DS
