Thank goodness i read this article. Now i know my volvos out to get me, i thought i was going mad!

Seriously though im following a similar water loss path where ive just caught the 940 dumping coolant from the rear of the engine. When i turned the ignition off the splashing flow stopped and now i cant replicate it . Maddening! Will check oil coolant hoses, then work up to heater valve.
