Replacement cars after 240s, 740s, 940s? 900

Our family has had four 240s, four 740s, and nine 940s over the past 34 years. Good 940s are getting hard to find in salt country here in MN and shipping from salt free states is expensive and risky as to what condition the car is in and how reliable the seller would be in connecting up with the shipper. All our still running Bricks are non-Turbo 1993-1995 940s. I have parts cars so feel confident I can keep the 940s running for awhile.

I'm sure there are many Brickboard folks that are having the same shortage of the old bricks and considering or have switched to cars, not necessarily Volvo, that are as reliable, easy to work on, long lasting, and safe as the old bricks.

Any thoughts of what fellow Brickboard folks are buying or considering under $5000, $10,000?
