I'd question your assumption about the challenges of bringing clean southern/southwestern/western cars up north. Plenty to choose from down south/west. And plenty of Volvophiles around the country willing to help you check out the condition of one before you buy. If you like the rwd Volvos, keep buying them -- clean ones from the land of no snow.
