ECC panel light out 900 1992

I think one of the bulbs that light the ECC panel is not working.

I managed to get the plastic surround loose without breaking it.

But I am having some problems separating the surround from the sunroof/hazard warning flasher/rear window demister switches. I would like to separate the flimsy surround so that I don't break it as I attempt to pull the ECC panel forward. But I am also concerned about breaking the plastic push/pull switches.

The ECC panel itself is not revealing its secrets easily. It does have some screws around the sides that I have not yet tried to remove but the front panel is connected to a large rear 'cabinet' and to get that forward enough to see the back of it could bring damage to the flimsy plastic surround.

I will probably try removing the screws to see if I can separate the front panel from the 'cabinet' so that I can find where the lighting bulbs live.

Anybody else been through this particular puzzle? I will try to get some pictures up.
