Front end alignment/tie rod ends... 200 1993

All,

I'm once again about to start work on my 1993 245.

In doing so I want to get the steering wheel where it should be as the PO must have replaced both tie rod ends or the steering rack, can't tell, and any ways the steering wheel is off 90 degrees, not to mention that one outside tie rod is barely on while the other one is on almost all the way on thread wise.

I've replaced outside tie rods before, and I can't remember how many turns it was to get the off so that I could get them close when putting them back on, so that is my question. Does anyone have a number of turns that will get me close to being straight? I'll get a front end alignment after that, just like to get the steering wheel close for now.

Thanks in advance,

matt
