Head gasket job, there was rubber washers between top of valve and lifter caps 200

After removing the camshaft and the lifters I found 2/3 of a rubber washer snapped on top of just one valve. Sort of a valve husher or a retainer for the little valve locks below. All other rubber washers have gone to pieces over the 38 years and 310k miles.

Are these rubber washers available and what is their fonction ? Can I forget about these without risk ?
