Check the movement of the cable from accelerator pedal back to the throttle wheel (name?) in the engine compartment. It could be hanging up where the cable goes through the firewall or more likely it is out of alignment on the throttle “wheel”. It is also possible the throttle cable is stretched or damaged and needs to be replaced. I had to replace the cable on my 90 240.
