850 900

Hi Spook and Nahtanha,

The B234 with that PRV quattrovalve (VW speak) in some mid production run 700s and maybe early 900s without Turbo is the closest thing to an 850 B52xx engine. So far as I know, all of these engines in FWD / AWD are two cam engines and are interference engines.

Hard to get my fat hands into the FWD engine bay. Engine bay gets really crowded by the XC70+ years.

More about torque than HP in 850/S70 non-turbo. From 1993 onward features were added two the five cylinder engines with variable valve timing at one or both cams. Yet OBD II provides more comprehensive reporting and is less tolerant of faulty running conditions.

I have nearly zero time with FWD / AWD driving it or getting into the engine bay. Like the 850 with manual gearbox.

May be best to ask at the FWD forum so Klaus and folks clue us all in.

Yet for non-turbo torque, rather the (1972) 164 with B30 and M410 manual gear box. Plenty of engine bay space in there! Plenty of torque!
