Revenge of the 940 -Heater valve and heater hose 900

I used a Motorcraft (Ford) #YG-136 heater control valve on my Volvo 940's that I've driven.
It seems like the aftermarket valves that are available are crap, and I got tired of replacing them every year or two.

This valve is a direct replacement with one exception.
The nipple for the vacuum hose connetion is slightly smaller than the factory valve.
This means that you will have to adapt the larger hose diameter hose on the car to the smaller diameter nipple.
I simply shrunk a short piece of shrink tubing on the smaller nipple to get the correct size.
I applied a small amount of glue (I used weatherstrip adhesive) to the small nipple before before installing the shrink tubing to keep the tubing in place permanently.
The (Motorcraft) valve on the car now (my son drives it) has been on the car for at least 5 years, and has had no problems.

I like paragraph 3 of your post. I tell people that these red block Volvo's have a personality and sometimes get odd looks.
I tell them, "you just had to be there".
