hi kit g and other sages- have heard this before about stinko replacement fuel pumps for 240s and dirty tricks with the old airtex box trick. anyway , mine went bad shortly after I bought my 92 245 in 2011. shyster dealers and indies wanted 600 to replace it then, probably would want 1000 today. had a hard time finding one. eventually found a vdo on order from CARQUEST for about 125. put it in with a new sock , sender, hoses, tank gasket and ring gear clamps. has worked fine since . one warning, when you do this job be careful to use a gates fuel injection hose on the submersible pump which resists gas on the inside of the hose and the outside .otherwise it will rot out early and youll be back in the tank again.took me a long afternoon. used 3 Fs on the 5F scale of job toughness. and some still say I have a bad attitude. what think you? regards oldduke
