Steering rack front end shimmy 200 1989

*****Shimmy starts at 40 mph to 65 it stops if I apply brakes gently *****

it stops, but then does it go away altogether when you do that?

a shimmy within a speed range generally points to a defect in the tires.

1)I've had tires balanced and then had to go back and complain and get the place to balance them again.

2) the tires and all may balance up on the machine, but the tires May be failing -- steel belt or whatever material may be separating.

the first thing you shoud do is swap out the Frnt tires for the Rear or otherwise mix them up and see if the '40-65mph shimmy' changes or goes away.
