My dealer doesn't have any mechanics that can work on any Volvo prior to 2001.

Check your turn signal lights, do they come on when you move the stalk? That would let you 'blink' the light manually 3 times and avoid stupid tickets. Heck, half of the drivers around here either don't use turn signals or turn them on after stopping at a light.

Prepare to replace the relay. I believe NAPA has them. Some of the knock offs are louder than others, but they work.
