valve shim question 900 1994

I've been rebuilding a B230F head that I would like to use as replacement for the one in my car, and found out after putting everything together that the valves are too tight and the shims are already on the low end of the size spectrum. The head that came from a junked car was in fine condition aside from the slightly thinner shims, but I guess me lapping the valves again tipped it over the edge. The current shim sizes vary from the low of 3.50mm to the high of 3.95mm; there's basically zero gap between the shims and the camshaft, so I'm estimating that ~ 0.4 mm would need to be shaved off. The thinnest shim size I've seen is 3.30mm. Any ideas on what to do? The head in my car has a slight issue that one of the studs on the exhaust manifold is broken (otherwise it's in unknown condition with about 200K on it). But I may end up using it instead.
