Incomplete Clutch Disengagement.. or something RESOLVED

The replacement pressure plate arrived. I bench tested it and found it to be working. I installed it and the clutch now works as it should!
I'm grateful to the insight from you all. I had not suspected a defective part. If it had not been suggested to me, I would have been very confused upon taking the clutch apart and finding that nothing seemed wrong. I'm not sure what I would have done.
I've replaced many clutches but have never had this happen.
