Header Pipe - Egr VS Non-Egr 200

Maybe someone can keep me from creating a disaster.

I have a Non-EGR '93 240 which is going to need a header pipe at some point.

I have an EGR header pipe (stainless I was told when I bought it from FCP).

I's rather leave the Non-EGR pipe in place until I'm ready to pull it so I cannot readily do a side-by-side comparison with the EGR pipe.

I've always been told the two aren't interchangeable, but, if it will just take a little slicing and dicing, I'd like to use the Non-EGR pipe in the EGR car especially if it is stainless.

Does anyone know for certain how the two pipes differ?

Thanks, one and all.
