m47 tranny plug image 200

here's an image of my drain plug partially cleaned to remove the residue, but gentle enough to retain any metal filings.

my guess is the filings are typical with the age and mileage and doesn't show any catastrophic issues with the gears. it's a little similar to what i find in an auto tranny pan. note that the magnet is is like a spark plug end so the filings will collect at a point.

any input is greatly appreciated.

thanks,
byron
