Correct Distributor Pickup for '85 245

Wow!

This is getting curiouser and curiouser!

I could only find a couple of sources showing "Discontinued" for the Bosch Part you mentioned, though on Porsche supplier showed it at $130 but with no photo to verify mounting tabs.

It shows the Wells RB-147 as a cross reference, but no joy on finding that one either.

The one IN the distributor presently, Bosch 1230 500 221 was working (until it, or some other component didn't), which cross referenced to a Wells RB-119, which I found in Ebay (where it showed cross reference to Bosch 1230 500 221), so I went ahead and ordered one.

I think since the old Bosch#1230 500 221 one WORKED for many years makes it a safe bet, especially since the Bosch # 1237 031 166 seems to be unavailable.

Interestingly there are now TWO Bosch 1230 500 221 shown on ebay,

ONE at: https://www.ebay.com/itm/BOSCH-1230500221-NEW-Distributor-Ignition-Pickup-VOLKSWAGEN-AUDI-1983-1989/112014392186?epid=1859559828&hash=item1a1493fb7a:g:oSYAAOSwVyRXTw~d,

and the OTHER at: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Bosch-Ignition-Pick-Up-1230-500-221/333604714360?hash=item4dac63f778:g:9W0AAOSwO2Zexr9J

But the electrical connectors are DIFFERENT. The first one has a close-in plug like the one on my distributor, and the other has a long lead to an external

The Wells RB119 LOOKS identical to mine, so hopefully it WILL work.

In case you looked back at my first posting about NO SPARK, NO FUEL I tested the Chrysler system by shorting Pins 1 & 2 together on the distributor harness together and got a GREAT spark (and could hear the fuel pump run briefly), and Pin 3 had 12.8 v on it leading me (Via the Bentley) to believe the Chrysler Module is GOOD and the problem is the distributor pickup is the culprit (BAD).

Since it sounds like these vintage Volvos are your area of expertise, does my troubleshooting sound valid in thinking it's the pickup?

Thanks,
Bob
