Mice-Chewed Up Tissue in Vents 900

It is Fall here in Minnesota and the mice are looking for homes and things to make nests from.
I have found lots of chewed up tissue and other debris in our 93 Wagon and 95 Sedan 940s' dash vents the last couple weeks. The 940s are pretty much rust free since they are not driven in the Winter so I don't think there are any rust holes. I am wondering where the little critters are getting in the vents?
Thanks!
