Cigarette lighter removal 200 1991

Long time no post y'all.

Mrs Klankenborg despite everything still runs well. She sat for four weeks before I tried to start her up today and despite sluggish cranking she fired up as usual.

I want to remove the cigarette lighter housing and install a dual USB socket I got from amazon (who else?). Looks like a simple swap with spade connections, but I can't get the lighter to pop out of the center stack. I've removed the adjacent switches and blanks but the square of plastic holding the lighter appears to be part of the stack and the lighter socket despite spinning loose in the holder won't come out.

What is holding it in there?
