central rear brake stop light broken

Hello Ian,

In my case the mount itself is broken. I have the lamp holder and the lamp mechanism sitting loose on the rear dashboard. I need to find a way to get the mount out of its position so that I can repair it and reinstall it.

I suspect it is held in place by a couple of screws that affix it to the frame of the car and since it is so difficult to even see anything on the topside I think they would be accessed from the bottom---but you never know!

This would involve pulling the interior trunk light so that I could get to the screws holding the brake light mount in place. But I am talking through my hat because I don't really know if it is held this way or not.

The people in your article are simply trying to change the bulb and even that is an issue. Why not use a couple of shiny screws instead of relying on plastic tabs, etc.

Bob
