Hoping to use a 240 alternator on 7/9 series cars

Thanks Art,

both of my turbo 940's originally had 100amp alternators. The P&P replacement on my car is an 80amp and I certainly have not noticed any difference.

I called my local auto electric store this morning and they were unable to supply an original Denso but had a rebuilt Bosch available for $300.

I have a 100amp Denso with a bad diode. They would look into rebuilding it for me for $85/hour plus parts. The $22 tear down fee would be credited to that if they rebuilt it.

I currently don't need one but I would like to have a plan in place if it should be needed. There is a certain comfort in knowing the fix is on my shelf or close by.
