Hoping to use a 240 alternator on 7/9 series cars

my RPR Catalogue lists 2 for the 240
80AMP Bosch-AL157X
70AMP B-AL57X

RPR also lists the AL157X 80amp for the 940.
The 940 Turbo AL155X 100amp

I got a remanufactured one (Beck Arnley)from a local autoparts store (this was a few years ago)

When I called looking for one for a Volvo 240 -- they said don't have one---
Then I said how about a Bosch AL57X, he looked again and had one on the shelf.

It was designated for a BMW, but it was the same --- the only difference was the Positive post, which had plastic collar around it ---I guess for the BMW connector. I had to change the connector end on the Positive cable to fit.

So try asking for the Bosch part ---- AL157X for the 80Amp or AL155X for the 100amp --- and don't mention Volvo.
