weeping leak of coolant on top of water pump,, 900 1993

I have changed out the gasket and seals on these red block water pumps more often than I would like to admit. It is just a bad design. On the bright side it has never been because of a catastrophic failure or a resulting low level of coolant. They just start to leak and continue until addressed.

I raise the hoods on our cars quite often to check fluid levels and generally take a minute of poking around looking for what might be amiss. I also have a low coolant sensor circuit on all the cars and that increases my comfort level.

So keep an eye on it. FCP Groton once again has the gasket and seal kit listed but it is currently shown as backordered. You can still get everything ala carte now that they offer a gasket from Victor Reinz.
