TIMING BELT DEBRIS 200

Just had an interesting issue FYI. Keep this car in good condition - 1980 240. Driving along, all is good - all of a sudden engine stops - and cranks but won't fire up. I'm thinking fuel pump - have had an electric one for 10 years.
Get it towed to shop and the result is a small piece of the plastic timing belt cover broke off and flew into timing belt and it jumped a notch - read 30 lbs compression - reset belt and timing all is well.
Am ordering a new cover.
So check the condition of yours on the inside part of the cover is my suggestion.
