I'm looking for your wisdom on how to prep the outside edge.

I've come across three schools of thought. Dry, oil, and sealant.

I'll share my feelings on two of them. Oil, my help it seat squarely, which has been a problem in the past.

Sealant would lessen the chance of leaks, but may leave residue that may be difficult to clean out and get a good seal in the future.

Give me you opinions.
